Notification Settings

Customize which notifications you receive and how you receive them

Notification Settings

Control your notification experience by customizing what alerts you receive and through which channels. Find the right balance between staying informed and avoiding overload.

Accessing Settings

To manage your notification preferences:

  1. Click your profile picture in the header
  2. Select Settings or Profile
  3. Navigate to the Notifications tab

Notification Categories

Settings are organized by category:

Job Notifications

Setting Description Default
Job Assigned Notify when assigned to a job On
Job Unassigned Notify when removed from a job On
Status Updates Updates on your assigned jobs On
Job Completed When jobs are marked complete On
New Comments Comments on your jobs On

Team Notifications

Setting Description Default
New Members When someone joins your team On
Role Changes Your permissions change On
Mentions When you're @mentioned On
Team Announcements Company-wide messages On

Booking Notifications

Setting Description Default
New Bookings Customer bookings On
Booking Changes Modifications to bookings On
Cancellations Cancelled appointments On
Reminders Upcoming booking reminders On

System Notifications

Setting Description Default
Announcements Hydra updates and news On
Security Alerts Login and security notices On
Maintenance Scheduled downtime On

Channel Preferences

For each category, choose how to receive notifications:

In-App

Always enabled. Notifications appear in your notification center.

Email

Toggle email notifications per category. Options:

  • Immediately - Send email right away
  • Daily Digest - Combine into daily summary
  • Weekly Digest - Combine into weekly summary
  • Off - No emails for this category

Push Notifications

Browser push notifications for real-time alerts:

  1. Enable push notifications in your browser
  2. Toggle on for desired categories
  3. Notifications appear even when Hydra isn't open

Email Digest Settings

If using digest mode:

Daily Digest

  • Sent once per day at your chosen time
  • Summarizes all notifications from the past 24 hours
  • Configure time in notification settings

Weekly Digest

  • Sent once per week on your chosen day
  • Overview of the week's activity
  • Configure day and time in settings

Quiet Hours

Prevent notifications during specific times:

  1. Enable Quiet Hours
  2. Set start and end times
  3. Choose which days to apply
  4. Only critical notifications come through

Example: No notifications from 10 PM to 7 AM on weekdays.

Do Not Disturb

Temporarily pause all non-critical notifications:

  1. Click the bell icon
  2. Select Do Not Disturb
  3. Choose duration (1 hour, 4 hours, until tomorrow)
  4. Only security and critical alerts come through

A moon icon appears when Do Not Disturb is active.

Per-Job Settings

Override global settings for specific jobs:

  1. Open the service job
  2. Click the notification icon or Watch button
  3. Choose your preference:
    • All Activity - Every update
    • Participating - Only when mentioned
    • Ignore - No notifications for this job

Resetting to Defaults

To restore default notification settings:

  1. Go to notification settings
  2. Scroll to the bottom
  3. Click Reset to Defaults
  4. Confirm the reset

Best Practices

  • Start with defaults - Adjust as you learn your needs
  • Use digests - Reduce email overload for non-urgent items
  • Enable push for urgent - Get immediate alerts for critical events
  • Set quiet hours - Protect your personal time
  • Review monthly - Adjust settings as your role evolves
