Understanding Notifications

Hydra's notification system keeps you informed about important events in your workspace. From job assignments to team updates, you'll never miss critical information.

Notification Types

Hydra sends notifications for various events:

Job Notifications

  • Job Assigned - When a service job is assigned to you
  • Job Unassigned - When you're removed from a job
  • Job Status Changed - Updates on jobs you're following
  • Job Completed - When work is finished

Team Notifications

  • Member Joined - New team member added to your company
  • Role Changed - Your permissions have been updated
  • Mentioned - Someone mentioned you in a note or comment

Business Notifications

  • New Booking - Customer made a booking
  • Payment Received - Payment processed successfully
  • Subscription Update - Changes to your plan

System Notifications

  • Announcements - Important updates from Hydra
  • Maintenance - Scheduled downtime notices
  • Security - Login alerts and security notices

Notification Channels

Receive notifications through multiple channels:

In-App Notifications

The notification bell in your header shows unread notifications. Click to see recent alerts and access the full notification center.

Email Notifications

Important notifications are sent to your registered email. Control which events trigger emails in your settings.

Browser Notifications

Enable browser notifications for real-time alerts even when Hydra isn't your active tab.

Reading Notifications

Notification Bell

  1. Click the bell icon in the header
  2. View your recent notifications
  3. Click a notification to see details or take action
  4. Unread notifications show a count badge

Notification Center

For a complete view:

  1. Click See All in the notification dropdown
  2. Or go to Profile > Notifications
  3. Browse all notifications with filters
  4. Mark items as read or delete them

Notification Anatomy

Each notification includes:

Element Description
Icon Visual indicator of notification type
Title Brief description of the event
Message Additional context and details
Time When the event occurred
Action Link to related item (if applicable)

Unread Indicators

Unread notifications are highlighted and counted:

  • Badge count - Shows number of unread items on the bell icon
  • Highlight - Unread items have a distinct background
  • Dot indicator - Small dot marks unread status

Marking as Read

Notifications mark as read when you:

  • Click on the notification
  • Click Mark as Read on individual items
  • Use Mark All as Read for bulk clearing

Notification Actions

Some notifications include quick actions:

  • View Job - Open the related service job
  • Accept - Confirm an assignment or request
  • Dismiss - Clear the notification

Best Practices

  • Check regularly - Review notifications at least daily
  • Configure preferences - Tailor notifications to your needs
  • Act promptly - Respond to assignments and requests quickly
  • Clear old items - Keep your notification center manageable
